Seek God

When do we Seek HIM?

On a lighter note: Mostly on Sundays in our Sunday best.

Rest of the week, we normally seek HIM in the morning and at night We cry out to him when we are in pain and suffering from sickness. We thank him when we say grace at our breakfast, lunch or dinner table. We request for financial or other materialistic blessing.

In the times like these, we pray. We pray either to be grateful or thankful for another day or a blessing or a healing or nourishment from food.

It’s blessed to start and end our day with humble, grateful and thankful conversation with God.

On a serious note: in our everyday life, how many times do we speak with HIM about our problems without expecting a solution, talk to HIM about our day like a friend, commune with HIM with emotions and feelings without any expectation for our dire need and requests?

By his breath, we are living our lives but are we truly seeking HIM every day?

Something to think about

When we call or meet our “Earthly Father”, we often greet him and ask him: how is he doing?

Then, talk about our problems or share our happy moments and achievements.

Then, there are days when we are busy and in the midst of our chaos, all of a sudden, we realize or wish that if I would have called my Dad, he would have had a solution for this or he would have helped me get through this issue.

In the similar fashion, we need to see our “Heavenly Father”, believe that he exists and we can call upon him, wait upon on him.

We may not hear from HIM right away but know and believe that HE is listening.

But, we get so busy that we tend to our issues and go on with our lives. Even, when HE is trying to reach out to us thru our spirit, we tend to ignore him. It’s the spirit that letting us know to slow down and listen to God.

In times of physical pain, sickness or illness, we see a doctor. Don’t we?
Most of us don’t eagerly wait to go to the doctor. After all, it’s sometimes scary, embarrassing, painful or even expensive. You get the point.

I remember Hippocrates. And, we all know him as “The Father of Medicine”, he said “Let food be thy medicine”. Because, he came to know that we become what we take in.

So why not take in good in order to feel good? Why not seek that makes us healthy both physically and spiritually? Why not meditate on God’s word and seek the guidance of Holy Spirit? Why not believe in Jesus that he is the way, the truth and the life.

Spiritually Seek
God waits patiently for us throughout the day to speak to HIM about everything. Whether it’s our pain, suffering, sickness or achievements, we can meet him any time of the day. No appointments needed. As a matter of fact, there is no charge even if we miss an appointment with HIM :)

HE is ready to show and manifest himself. Ready to draw HIMSELF near to us as James 4:8 points out that says Draw near to God and HE will draw near to you.

Just like in order to be healthy we need to make changes to our physical life style. In the same way, let’s make changes to our spiritual life style and enjoy the blissful journey. Let’s walk in spirit.

Don’t take my word for it. Experience HIM yourself.

Just as breath is important to life, seeking God every single moment is important to have spiritual experiences and encounters. It is going to bring us closer to HIM and let us experience life in a whole new way.

David in the wilderness of Judah knew about it.
Psalm 63:1 says O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water

Many times, we find ourselves in completely deserted wilderness. When we go through the dry land, that’s when we thirst for water, companionship and love in a deserted place .

Where there is no water, we pray for water but often forgets that HE is the living water. David is reminding us that our flesh should long for HIM, for our Lord, for our Jesus, for our God.

You know even, in Lord’s prayer, the first few lines is about HIM, about God, about Heaven and Kingdom, HIS kingdom, about his Will and then it goes on about this day and daily bread and so on. It’s always about seeking HIM and then everything else.

Seeking HIM “with all our heart” is the key that leads us to a  promise to restore us that we see in
Jeremiah 29:14 that says I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I have sent you into exile.
Now, that is the declaration of the LORD. HE declares boldly. He promises us to restore what we have lost.

First hand experience

I remember one evening was going great. My wife was done cooking. The whole house was filled with aroma. Kids were having dinner while I was on my laptop working.

We started talking about our upcoming vacation and before you know, the conversation became a worrisome discussion about planning, finances etc. etc. You know how it goes sometimes. Now, before it got out of hand, we asked kids to finish their dinner, get ready for bed and say their prayers. Then, we sat outside on the swing and it started all over again, We were worried and that worry caused some hurt.

Now during the discussion, I was listening to my wife and seeking God at the same time.

Lord what do I do? He kept on poking me not to say anything but to be quiet and to listen to what my wife has to say and let her verbalize her concerns.

God knows what to do and when. We just need to calm ourselves and listen to HIM.

So, when she expected me to say something or reply back or be a part of conversation, I simply started by saying : Honey, look at this night. it’s so beautiful. Let’s not worry about it. Lord will handle it on our behalf.

Trust me, it was very beautiful that night.

And, then I showed her the twinkling stars and the moonlight that was shining upon us.
As soon as we both realized the beauty and being together in a twinkly, glittering, shining beautiful night, the moment shifted.

It was just awesome. She looked at me, smiled and said “YES HONEY. YOU ARE RIGHT”. “LET’S NOT WORRY ABOUT IT”. (u got to capitalize your wife’s words :))

I believe that it was “Holy Spirit” that ended our worry or what we were concerned about or verbalizing or however you want to look at it. But, it was “God” working in us and through us , guiding us to our Peace before the day ends.

As I went to bed. I realized that when we have desire to seek God, he is present with us every single moment of the day. He is always communing with us. We need to be more focused, conscious  and in tune with HIM.

Request and Prayer for all of You

Pause for a moment!!!

Have you ever wondered :
if Life happens to grow from within,
then why do we seek God outside?

We see his glory in the entire universe but HIS manifestation takes place within us.
He is always with us.
We just need to be in tune with him more.
Throughout the day we are not in a place or position to kneel down and pray with our eyes closed.
So, Listen to yourself. Look within yourself.
Your inner self will guide you in the right direction.
That is Holy spirit guiding you to your happy eternal life.
Seek and Desire God every moment.

Desire Life. Desire Love. Desire Light and Stay Blessed. Thank you.
